TECHNICAL OVERVIEW OF STARPATH BINOCULARS

1. Optical System:

High-Quality Optics: StarPath combines a typical high-quality pair of binoculars with an innovative AR technology. We collaborated with Nikon to create quality lenses and prisms that provide sharp, clear vistas.

AR Projection: The right side of the binoculars houses an innovative Augmented Reality (AR) projection system. This system projects contextual information into the optical path, combining augmented reality data with your real-world perspective.

2. Augmented Reality Integration:

High-Luminance, High-Contrast Projection System: The AR system employs a high-luminance, high-contrast microdisplay to ensure that the information superimposed on the natural optical image is clearly visible in a variety of lighting circumstances.

Field of View Fusion: Although the AR is presented on only one eyepiece, after a brief adaption period, the brain combines information from both eyes, resulting in a seamless AR experience.

3. Precision Orientation System:

GPS with inertial measurement unit (IMU): The binoculars use your phone's GPS location and are outfitted with IMUs. When combined with our unique software, this setup ensures exact positioning and low drift orientation by combining data from gyroscopes, gravity, and the earth's magnetic field.

Real-Time Data Processing: The system receives topographic and cartographic data over Bluetooth from your phone, allowing it to precisely overlay AR information based on your location and viewing direction.

4. Database Connectivity:

Extensive Map Database: StarPath Binoculars is linked to a database comprising billions of topographic nodes and millions of cartographic elements such as mountains, hills, paths, landmarks, water sources, stars, galaxies, and other celestial bodies.

Online and Offline Access: Users can access this database both online and offline, ensuring that information is available even in remote regions. If you expect to have restricted connectivity in the region you will visit, download the maps ahead of time.
